Happy Tummy
Since I’ve been missing my Elbi loves so much, I’m gonna do the “… things you love about Elbi” thing and I am going to start with my most loved kainan/restaurants. Elbi is a place where you could find food in an extremely diverse selection. Maybe because it has to suffice the eating needs of many people, many different people, “from all the regions of this eastern island fair” as the UPLB-CA college hymn states. The Elbi kitchen offers a wide range of foods in its menu, from the simplest isaw at proben to the most enticing meals perfectly arranged on a plate you wouldn’t want to do anything to preserve its looks.
Let me start with my list of favorite snacks in Elbi. Hindi ko alam kung anong gayuma meron ang proben at isaw sa may Raymundo. Hahanap-hanapin mo yung lasa nya kapag minsan mong natikman at teternohan mo pa ng malamig na malamig na softdrinks. Nakakaadik talaga! I was told ever since I was young, not to eat street foods because they are not clean. Pero sabi nga nila mas masarap yung bawal.
If you’re a fan of sweets, you would agree that baked products from Micha’s and Ahl’s were simply satisfying for your sweet tooth. I love Micha’s cake slices [especially the black forest] and cream puffs, and of course their baked macaroni which is the best seller. Ahl’s, on the other hand, offers variety of brownies that are really mouthwatering. They are also known for their BTS cake or the better-than-sex cake. And the best part of this is the price of their baked products suits my budget. It ranges from 12php to 80php.

When it comes to restaurants that offer food for lunch/dinner, I have my pinakabinabalik-balikan top 4. I love them because they offer food of very good taste and quality, the prices are very reasonable and they have a great place where you could eat comfortably.
At No. 4 is Tresto which is previously known as Kainan sa Hardin ni Lola Linda. They serve meals of very diverse types but my favorite on their menu are pancit (bihon-canton) and the tuna and cheese omelet. They used to have a videoke machine which made me and my friends love the place so much. They serve beer and some mixed drinks. They also have a function room where private events can be held. The place also offers free use of their Wi-fi and they have a bunch of really nice staffs.

On the 3rd spot is Mernovenli, this is a newly put up place and they specialize on grilled foods. It is located on F.O. Santos Street [inside the Dancel dorm compound]. This place has been a hit since it started grilling. My personal favorites on the menu are liempo barbeque, grilled hotdog, and grilled potato and onions.

Japanese food does not really stimulate my appetite. But ever since I tried eating at Eat Sumo Teri Hauz, which is my 2ndpinakabinabalik-balikan na kainan, I learned to love some stuffs on the Jap menu. My meal frequently includes kani salad, shrimp tempura, tonkatsu and yakisoba. Eat Sumo offers a very wide variety of meals from the authentic Japanese maki to the local recipes such as lumpiang ubod. The store is located on the 2nd floor of Ankers building along Grove, Los Baños.

And at first place is Sizzlers (Mother’s Best). This place, which is situated along F.O. Santos, is both for everyday dinners or special events. They serve mostly Filipino cuisines and my personal favorites are sizzling sisig and bam-i. Most of the meals were cooked upon order but the five to ten minutes waiting is worth it.

I’m not saying that these stores/restaurants are the best in Elbi but these are all must-try when you find yourself and your tummy searching for a fulfilling meal while in Elbi. =)) Happy eating!
